Me Time: Just A Lil’ Pampering.

Good evening everyone, Mama B here and I have to tell you about this cold weather we are having here!

Let me take you back about 7 months ago, I was living in hot & humid Charleston, SC. The winters there were quite brief and before you knew it, it was time to hit up the beaches again.

With the current temperature being in the low 30’s, I am sure you could guess that I have spent most of my days bundled up in my warmest pajamas indoors with my son. There is something about this kind of weather that just has me wanting to rest and recover. Not that I have anything worth mentioning that I need recovering from, just that it seems like a good time to check in with myself and see how I am doing. I would say as a mom, but really every human being can benefit from checking in on oneself from time to time, taking a moment to focus on themselves and taking care of oneself.

Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite routines and products I use to pamper myself a bit.

Bath Time

Unfortunately, all of my family members share one bathroom. Now I know this is better than no bathroom at all, but let me tell you, when I have a bath… I go all out! Removing all the baby bath toys, rinsing out the tub etc. I love getting out my favorite essential oils (right now that’s a combination of spearmint and lavender), adding some epsom salts and taking a nice and long soak. Grab a bathtub pillow and a bath bomb and you’re in heaven! Ever heard of Lush? They have cruelty free products that are to die for! Try  THE BIG SLEEP bath bomb, it’s a favorite! Really want to set the ambiance? Play some music and light some candles.


With the cold weather, both my son and I have been struggling with dry skin. As I have been experimenting with new lotions for my son, I actually just started using this Shea Moisturizer for Baby on myself and… oh my goodness… it smells so good! This act may seem small, but there is something about smelling good that makes me feel better on top of having soft skin.


Okay, so I know there are those people who get in a work out and talk about how great they feel afterwards. I hate those people… Just kidding!!!! But, for the people out there (like me) who find themselves low on energy some days, here is a great Yoga video you can easily follow along to. I would say that Yoga is a pretty normal part of my life, but the great thing about this video is that you don’t have to have ever really gotten on a mat to feel the benefits. If you are new to Yoga and give it a try, let me know what you think!

Have something sweet, something salty… or maybe even both

I’ll admit it. I eat my feelings. Okay, now that that’s out there… let’s talk about how a little dark chocolate or some potato chips can really lift a girls spirits! You know what I’m talking about!

Remember, there are so many acts of self-love, no matter how small they might be, that can go a long way.
